When praying and thinking about the struggles in my young nephew’s life, I read this scripture.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Saviour, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever more. Amen
God is able to keep us from stumbling and bring us home faultless. It is not about our efforts but our complete trust in a powerful God. So many people think they couldn’t be a christian because they may fail at it. But the truth is if you hand your life over to God, surrendering all then you are giving Him the responsibility to steer and to guide you. Your life becomes new because He is at work in you and there is no-one He cannot reach! Even in our darkest valleys and in our hardest trials, Even when we fall badly! He is able!
It’s so encouraging, to finally give up the struggle and put your life into the hands of the one who made us. As Spurgeon says “When we come to the end of self we come to the beginning of Christ.” Don’t try and figure it out, don’t worry about others, leave it to God for HE IS ABLE! HE WILL DO IT!
“God is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. It means God is not going to lose you or let go of you. You’re never going to stumble and fall to the temptation of abandoning the faith to deny Christ. He will keep you from that. The promise of God is that, if you are Christ’s He will keep you. Everyone the father gives to Christ receives and keeps and raises to eternal glory and so we praise our God for His keeping power.” J Macarthur
Psalm 37:24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
