A Jubilant week-end

I have enjoyed the celebrations of the silver jubilee of our Queen and was pleased to see the large crowds that had gathered. It seems the public do respect and admire a lady who has stood the test of time. I know not everyone has such enthusiasm for the Royal family but I can only see good role models and ambassadors for our country. If I look back to last summer and the awful scenes of looting and destruction I know which Engand I would prefer to live in.

There was great joy and hope as the country united to celebrate this time in history and as a Christian we are told to pray for those who rule over us. I actually think “God save the Queen” is a great anthem and seems to have been a great blessing so far.

So as we pass through this life momentarily as obedient servants to God, Queen and country we will be welcomed in to a truly wonderful Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven and that will be an awesome sight to behold.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. 1 Tim 2:1-6
