A Wedding Celebration

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary of 15 years and I received chocolates and a large box of beautiful sunflowers. My favourite, so cheery and bright. A total surprise from my husband who had them especially delivered.
My wedding was a simple affair,  I wore a slimline dress with a small bouquet of yellow flowers. I remember we had chosen an unusual upbeat song for the bridal party to leave to, a real song of celebration. I was reminded of this recently at church when a gentle African man stood to his feet and began singing it prophetically. It instantly reminded me of the celebrations of our wedding day and the celebration of the Lords words through the Prophet Isaiah. A garment of praise the song declares, instead of spirit of despair! It was beautifully simple but so effective and powerful as he sang it. It was a declaration of truth and I was so blessed by it. One day we will be celebrating with our Lord, all the sorrows and pain of this world will be replaced with the joy and gladness of the Lord.
A crown of beauty instead of ashes
The oil of gladness instead of sadness
He has given us a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
That we may be called the oaks of righteousness. Isaiah 61:3
