Tonight if the skies are clear we are told (through binoculars) we will be able to see a rare supernova millions of light years away. An exploding star so bright it will be visible from the earth. It makes me want to rush out and buy some binoculars, although I’m not sure if the weather will co-operate.
We all get so caught up with our earthly chores that we can forget the amazing complex creation that surrounds us. Recently I watched a slide show of an astronauts pictures of earth that he took from space and you cannot escape the awe factor. On The worlds most dangerous roads, comedian Sue Perkins was silenced by the beauty of the surrounding mountains in the Alaskan wilderness. I’m sure she used the word majestic to describe her surroundings. I felt like saying to her that’s the awe factor that God wants us to feel when we see the beauty of His creation. It brings us up closer to the most majestic creator who made it. We have all been there, stunned by natures incredible beauty. Be awe-inspired today, and give him the praise that is due!
